The stylish set gathered for a lunch to mark the occasion.
On Thursday, JK Livin Foundation’s Shannon Rotenberg opened her Bel Air home to guests for an al fresco luncheon celebrating the partnership between luxe online retailer Net-a-Porter and Learning Lab Ventures.
Molly Sims and fashion designers Mary Alice Haney, Laura Vassar of Brock Collection, Kendall Conrad, Emily Current and Meritt Elliott were among those who gathered to kick off a month of charitable shopping on the site. The event was pegged to Net-a-Porter’s latest giving initiative with the Learning Lab Venturesfoundation started by Rochelle Gores Fredson to help educate children in L.A.’s underserved neighborhoods.

“I feel so humbled to have such a great partner,” said Fredson, toasting her friends, including Current and Elliott, who shared over lunch that they are in the process of opening their own store for their label The Great on Melrose Avenue, with doors estimated to open in four months. Also on hand for the stylish soiree were Garance Dore, NJ Goldston, Erica Pelosini and Christina Chiu.

“California is such an important market for us, and we actually have a nascent client relations and personal shopping team on the ground here,” says Net-a-Porter president Alison Loehnis. “Rochelle is a big supporter of the brand and brought to our attention the work she has been doing. We’ve partnered with the most incredible charitable organizations all over the world, focusing on families and children in need, and her results have been amazing so we wanted to get involved and help her.”
Later this month, Net-a-Porter will sponsor the annual Learning Lab Ventures Winter Gala in Beverly Hills. In honor of the partnership, Net-a-Porter will donate 20 percent of full-price net sales to Learning Lab Ventures supporters with code at checkout for the month of January.
